I’m makin’ all kinds of gains, allll kiiiiiiiiiiinndssssss.
Okay, okay… while I’m not close to looking like the Hodge Twins, I did hit a couple PR’s today, so, I am makin’ gains.
Let’s get to today’s session and then we’ll talk about my little case of being MIA for the last four days or so.
Squats: 45lbs(bar) x10 x1, 95lbs x5 x1, 115lbs x5 x2, 120lbs x5 x2 (PR!), 65lbs x15 x1
Dead Lifts: 45lbs(bar) x10 x1, 135lbs x5 x1, 155lbs x5 x1, 175lbs x5 x2, 185lbs x5 x2 (PR!), 135lbs x10 x1
I am within 10lbs of DLing my body weight! So close to my first goal! The last rep of the last set of that PR was really hard, when I set the bar down, it rolled from me, so I had to force it back and hold it in the lifting position to keep it from rolling away and then lift…ho-leeee crap!
But I got it done.
Now, I was supposed to do this workout and hit this PR on Thursday evening or Friday morning, however, on Thursday I went and assisted my father-in-law in lifting a very heavy tent trailer onto a trailer bed. I did a lot of pressing and pushing and I was sore through saturday! Haha! So, technically, I did get a workout of sorts.
Reviewing my workout log, I’m still averaging 2 workouts/week, even though I have a workout plan that supplies 3/week. On the positive side of things, at least I am hitting it twice a week, however, I really, really need to push through the random obstacles and get that 3/week average solidified.
There will be some changes to my career coming up this month. There will be some challenges in the changes I am making, but the changes should be rewarding at the same time. There is going to be a little more flexibility in my work schedule, so I am hoping that by December/January I will be hitting 3/week solidly.
Be strong for you. Be Strong 4 Family.
